TULA bar success in Beijing
13th August, BeijingStorming to Gold medal victory in the Women's TT event, USA cyclist Kristin Armstrong crossed the finish in a time of 34min 51.72sec over the 14.6 mile hilly course. With almost half a minute clear of Silver medal position, Great Britain's Emma Pooley, the race was clearly decided in the second half after Armstrong had climbed to the highest point of the course. The long descent meant that Armstrong's highly refined aerodynamic equipment came into play as she reached top speed on the bike to gain her winning margin in these latter stages of the race.
She was 2006 World TT champion, but this is now the career high for a jubilant Armstrong.
Watch out for USE's TULA boost bars in action at the Olympics Triathlon on Tuesday 19th August 0300-0510 GMT the Men's Triathlon with Will Clarke (UK) and Stuart Hayes (UK)
